The Game

Every year this game rolls around and it is always the biggest basketball game of the year. I measure a Mizzou coach by his record against kU just as much as I do his overall winning percentage and many other factors. It is clearly the biggest game of the basketball season for me and I do so thoroughly enjoy going.

It is always more enjoyable when we win. And we did just that tonight. We shot the ball very poorly in the first half and only managed 16 points and we went in at the half down by 14. Yet we did the miraculous. We staged an amazing comeback victory against the defending National Champions. It was Zaire Taylor's last second shot that gave us the victory 62-60. It is official Coach Mike Anderson has my confidence and approval.

However it was not all good times tonight. This game was to be a special treat for Abbie. She has long been begging me to take her to a MU-kU game, and I have always denied her request on the grounds that she was not old enough to deal with the rowdy crowds that attend these games. I finally relented and procured tickets for her, however, just minutes before the game Abbie had a change of heart. She said that she did not want to go to the game. I asked her why and she just said that she did not want to go, and that she did not know why. Abbie, I saved your seat for you and I missed you.
